The New York Yankees have agreed to terms with Billy Crystal (yes, the actor) on a minor league contract. (Awful Announcing)
Scouts are saying Crystal’s fastball sits 39-41 with a changeup that is described as “something my grandma might throw”

Here’s something else that needs to be seen. This is some vintage stuff, so I’m not old enough to remember it, but looking at it, it blows my mind. The Baseball Boogie, featuring Mike Scioscia, Fernando Valenzuela, Bob Welch and other members of the 1986 Dodgers. (Babes Love Baseball)

Scott Schoeneweis makes excuses for Mets not making the playoffs last season, placing himself without blame. Apparently, performance doesn’t matter to Schoeneweis down the stretch. (Can’t Stop the Bleeding)

Kaz Matsui has roid rage. Not those kinds of roids. (Tirico Suave)

Robinson Cano scouting report. (Baseball Digest Daily)

Oregon State becomes first 0-18 team in Pac-10 history. Nice. (Obscure Sports Quarterly)

UCLA basketball coach Ben Howland does a teleconference and Andy of Gutty Little Bruins managed to find his way into this teleconference. Sneaky mofo. The complete transcript in which Howland talks about Kevin Love winning the Pac-10 Player of the Year Award among other things.

I’m not sure giving him a huge, long term contract is the best way to go. I can just see him adding the weight back on after the deal is done.
