Bill Buckner returns to Fenway, throws out ceremonial first pitch in the home opener. [Sports By Brooks]

I saw footage of him following the game, teary-eyed and speaking to the media:

“I really had to forgive, not the fans of Boston, per se, but in my heart, I had to forgive the media for what they put me and my family through. I’ve done that, and I’m over that and I’m just happy.”

It’s sad how one mistake, a simple mistake can follow a man for life. I’m happy for Buckner to finally be free of his mistake.
